Today Felix is 4 month old. He has changed so much over that time. He now weighs almost 18 pounds, he smiles and laughs and he has begun turning over onto his side and stomach. He can grasp toys and he has even started to notice Bone and Satchmo. He is very vocal, and he loves to have conversations with anyone willing to talk to him. Everyday it seems as though he can do a little something new, but his moms are glad that he isn't changing too fast. Happy 4 month birthday Felix!!!

Susan's bro comes to visit!
Felix loves his Uncle John
family photoLast week Susan's brother John came to visit Felix from Lancaster PA. We had a fantastic time and hope he did too! We went to the St. Paul Farmer's Market, to dinner at Lucia's, to the Midtown Global Market, and just hung out at our house. John really likes ice cream so we took him to a couple local places so he could sample some great ice cream made with local, organic ingredients. John even taught us how to make sorbet, and we made an awesome sour cherry sorbet with cheries from our own tree! Felix was a real charmer and had a great time meeting his uncle. We hope he can come to visit again soon.

Felix holds court
Yes, we know, we really are behind on our posts! But we wanted to talk about all the visitors Felix has had recently...most of whom we don't have photo documentation for! Back in mid-June, Nicola's sister Alayna came to visit from Ohio and got to meet her new nephew. We had a great time hanging out with her, and she got to see some of Felix's first smiles. Here she is with a pensive Felix:
Then, later in June, our friends Rachel and Ann came to visit from sunny California, and had us over for brunch with Rachel's mom. Felix was the star of the occasion, and we all had lots of fun watching him sleep, drool, smile, whatever - it was all worth watching.
Our last undocumented visitor was Adam's good friend Vincent who is moving here at the end of the summer from Philadelphia. Vincent was very interested in meeting Felix as he has been keeping up on his exploits from reading this here blog (thanks for the props Vincent)! We had a yummy lunch at the Midtown Global Market, and then took a walk around Powderhorn Park. We look forward to seeing more of Vincent in the fall.

Felix and the Sun
Felix goes to the U
We wanted to tell you all about the AWESOME baby shower that Susan's coworkers had for Felix a couple weeks back. Lots of wonderful people came to meet Felix, and they gave him some lovely gifts - including a donation to help with the adoption. The food was amazing too! We are so grateful to have such supportive people at Susan's work and look forward to Felix getting to know everyone in the years ahead.
Rainbow Connection

Felix attended his first ever GLBT Pride event last week, the Rainbow Families Children's Choir concert. He went with his moms and grandparents. Rainbow Families is queer families advocacy group. The concert was at the Lake Harriet concert pavillion. It was great to be in a beautiful park with many other queer families and their kids, and the choir was so cute! They sang "Rainbow Connection" from the Muppet Movie, a song from Rent, and then a little boy sang a song about having lesbian moms and how cool they were. We had a nice time!
