Elbow Lake

Felix and his mom and mama went up north to Elbow Lake with the Pine clan for a few days. Felix learned how to say "Elbow Lake" for the occasion...

We did all sorts of fun things: climbing on old trains, hiking on Lake Vermillion Gorge, playing on the beach, and eating yummy food.

Felix's favorite activity was hanging out on the dock with nana and grandpa, where he got to see boats coming and going. He also got to see a huge bass that lives under the dock (as a pet of the lodge) get fed by the staff. Felix watched as they dropped some minnows into the lake, and the bass jumped out of the water to eat them.

He also loved canoeing with his mom, mama, and grandpa. We kept busy singing songs and looking for things along the way - boats, birds, clouds, etc on our brief (but sufficient) one hour excursion. Here's Felix singing the most classic boating song there could be.

Our only regret was that we did not stay longer. And that we did not apply bug repellent at the Wellstone Memorial. Which, in addition to being very beautiful and very sad, was also very mosquito-laden, and resulted in some mammoth mosquito bites on Felix's neck. Since then, they have all healed up, and contrary to rumor, they do NOT cause lyme disease.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things

Playing in the sprinkler, especially after a long day at daycare.
A perfect way to wind down the day.

Dairy Queen ice cream cone. Can't beat it!

"Coffee" with Uncle Adam on the porch.

Spotting school buses - and hanging out with Bone - two in one extra bonus shot!
