Last night, Felix crawled forward for the first time! He has been scooting himself backwards, but finally made the forward transition. The object of his locomotion was his nightlight, which he noticed and then attempted to pull out of the wall socket. His safety conscious parents dutifully unplugged it and it was sitting on the floor, waiting to be reinserted after he fell asleep (so his parents can see when they go in his room to check on him). Well, apparently the nightlight was just too strong of a temptation because he crawled across the room to get it!
A postscript to this blog is that I nearly did not get his first crawl on video tape. At the critical moment, I ran out of tape on my camera. So, I had to use my still camera to record this which explains the poor quality. I'm sure everyone will find it humorous that the video teacher does not follow her own advice to "always have an extra tape on hand"!

Oh my god! He got so good so fast!
He was totally waving the night light like a light saber too. Susan must be so proud.
It's a new day!! Take all the CDs off the bottom shelf and hide the breakables. Go Felix!!
Felix has a great beat box to go along with his crawling. I can see why he was so interested in the night light, he's ready for his spotlight!
I like how his little voice is so excited. Good goin' Felix!
This is the most adorable, exciting video! he's totally multi-tasking- crawling, taking, shaking the nightlight! Amazing...
