Don't Mess with Felix (in Texas)

Felix made his way down to Texas for the second time in his short life. This time he and his mamas visited the Svatek clan in sultry Houston, just out of reach of Hurricane Gustav. Felix enjoyed the plane ride down. He loved looking out the window, and opening and closing the shade...repeatedly.

Despite the unbearably hot weather, Felix enjoyed the park near his grandparents' house (and right next to the Elementary School that Susan went to). What you can't see in this picture are his moms and his Aunt Bonnie standing pathetically in the shade to avoid the direct sun.

One of the most exciting parts of our trip was getting to meet 10 month old Andie for the first time - Felix's cousin. Andie is Susan's brother's daughter, and is the cutest baby ever! She was a little shy around us newcomers, but loves her grandpa and grandma.

Planning any outing around two babies' schedules proved to be a little challenging, especially when said babies take their naps at totally opposite times during the day. But, we managed to pull off two lunches out, and, a trip to the Houston Children's Museum. No small feat! Felix and Andie were both in their element with "developmentally appropriate" toys in the tot area.

Andie loved the bubble machine, the mobile and the plush toys.

Felix went gaga over a whole wall full of light switches and buttons, and a child's size toy car. We didn't have the heart to tell him he was using the decoy steering wheel.

All in all it was a great trip. We got to eat lots of yummy food,

and bond with relatives old,

and young.

We look forward to seeing y'all again real soon!
