For all of you who regularly read this blog, you know that Felix recently figured out how to crawl. Surprisingly, the past few weeks have been decidedly uneventful after this momentous occasion. We were ready to set up the baby gates, block the stairs, and remove all dangerous objects from sight. Instead, Felix seemed to have no interest in crawling, and seemed content to be carried from room to room ad infinitum.
Then on Friday, inspiration struck and Felix made a beeline for the stairway, the bathroom, the baseboards, and then, the desk, where he happily amused himself in the alcove for a good 20 minutes. Since then, Felix has been on the move. He discovered the VCR, the bottom of the stairs (a little less daunting than the top), the answering machine, and many other exciting things at his eye level. The world has opened up! And yes, we are getting on that babyproofing thing...though by the time we finish, he'll probably be on to walking.

This may be a genetic thing, as his Auntie Alayna loves alcoves as well.
